When I was 15 1/2 with a drivers permit for 2 wks.,never out of our little town of Stilwell,OK.Uncle Ray & I were on the way to the airport in Tulsa to get his son Keith & we stopped at a dealership where he was working to get a car. He said pick a car, any car cuz you're driving. I picked out the smallest car I could find, he laughs, said "OK NO" and walked over, picked out the biggest car on the lot, a Lincoln Town car & throws me the keys. Gets in, takes his boots off says follow the hwy.to Tulsa. Then he starts snoring. I was so scared, I road the white line all the way and he slept all the way!!!We made it. He was ONE GREAT DRIVERS ED TEACHER! Oh, he drove us back. ha ha Loving my Uncle Ray always.!!!

Jackie Petree-Oklahoma Condolence: I just sent a story for Dennis but this is my memory. When we lived in Colorado we had the most fun with Ray. I will never forget how nice he was to me being a new family member. He worked at Copeland Concrete with his brother Dennis. I rode home with him and the song (put on your bobbie socks baby, roll up those old blue jeans, etc.) came on and we cranked up the radio and just sang and sang and laughed a lot. We also had great time on the motor cycles in the mountains with his dad, which was also an awesome man. He was a GREAT BROTHER IN LAW AND I LOVE HIM VERY MUCH FOR IT!!!!! You guys take care of each other as I know you will and I love you all very much. Sunday February 02, 2014

My name is Dennis. Ray was my big brother, we were only one year apart. We had many fun times growing up. I trusted him with my life!!! For instance, we had 3 car accidents which Ray was driving every time. He loved to speed, (and we were not even drinking). One of them we were on the way to a football game at school. I will miss him so much. We have lived in different states for a while now but we got to see each other once in a while. My son & I got to see Ray a couple of months ago in Colorado and I am so glad I did!!!!
